  Discover the fascinating world of San Bartolo Coyotepec, the birthplace of a unique craft on the planet. On this visit, you will get to know the ancient tradition of black mud, where the connection with the earth is sacred : only the men of the community have the ancestral permission to extract this special mud from the mountain. You will witness a familiar process full of mastery, where the pieces come to life through traditional techniques such as burnishing (rubbing with quartz for shine), draught (precise geometric cuts) and plating. You will see how simple jars and vessels are transformed into true works of art with that metallic black hue that has brought worldwide fame to Oaxaca.
