It picks you up at your accommodation in Punta Arenas and in a few minutes we leave the city to go up to the hills of the Magallanes National Reserve, a protected area of Patagonian native forest. Along with a certified local guide, you will walk at a leisurely pace through trails surrounded by lengas, coigües, and ñirres, covered in mosses and lichens. On the way, you will learn to recognize the flora and fauna of southern Patagonia. Depending on the season, you can see native flowers such as small wild orchids and forest birds, such as the Magellanic woodpecker, whose observation is never guaranteed. It is a medium-low difficulty experience, lasting about 3 to 4 hours, ideal for those looking for authentic Patagonian nature without getting far from the city.
