Discover the Sydney South Coast on a small-group day tour that travels by Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, not a full-size coach.
Your entry to Symbio Wildlife Park is included - a compact walk-through park in the bush above Helensburgh, where the koalas sit at eye level and the kangaroo enclosure is one you walk into.
Drive the Grand Pacific Drive and stop at the Sea Cliff Bridge, built out over the water on piers around the base of the cliffs, with time to walk out on it rather than just drive across.
Watch the Kiama Blowhole fire sea water out of a lava tube in the rock shelf, with the lighthouse and harbour a short walk away.
Take in Bald Hill Lookout above Stanwell Park, the Minnamurra headland, and the dairy country above Werri Beach at Gerringong, plus free time for lunch in Kiama.
Door-to-door hotel pick-up and drop-off in the Sydney CBD, an English-speaking driver-guide, complimentary bottled water on board, child seats on request, and no hidden fees or mandatory shopping stops.
Complimentary pickup from Sydney CBD hotels. Please be ready in front of your hotel 10 minutes before the scheduled time. We will send you a text message the evening before the tour with your exact pickup time.
Furama Darling Harbour
The first stop of the day, on the escarpment above Stanwell Park. From the edge you look straight down the coast to the Sea Cliff Bridge curving around the base of the cliffs, and hang gliders usually launch from the grass beside you. This is the view the Grand Pacific Drive is built around.
A compact walk-through wildlife park in the bush above Helensburgh, and your entry is included. Koalas sit at eye level rather than high in a tree, the kangaroo enclosure is one you walk into, and there are wombats, dingoes, quokkas and red pandas along the loop. Small enough to see properly in an hour instead of at a jog.
One of the great stretches of the Grand Pacific Drive: a bridge built out over the water on piers, curving around the base of the cliffs with the surf breaking below. We stop so you can walk out on the pedestrian side and see it properly, not just drive across it.
A short stop on the headland, looking down over a long curve of beach and the river mouth. Your driver-guide will walk the group to the spot the photographs get taken from.
Sea water is forced through a lava tube in the rock shelf and fires up out of the hole, sometimes well over head height when the swell is running from the south-east. It is weather-dependent, so your guide will tell you how it is behaving on the day. The lighthouse and the harbour are a short walk from it.
The last stop before the run home: a small dairy town on the hills above Werri Beach, where the green paddocks come right down to the sand. Time for a coffee or an ice cream and a look along the coast from the headland before we head back to Sydney.
