This tour unites two artisanal treasures of the Central Valleys: Ocotlán, famous for its square day and its pottery tradition, and San Antonino Castillo Velasco, the “Land of Flowers”, renowned for its embroidery and the Immortal Flower. The narrative guides the traveler from the daily life of the market to the intimate encounter with workshops and producers, closing with a look at the fields where the colors are born that later become art.

We will visit the studio of 2 different artists: 1. - We will visit the studio "Hands That See", a workshop of pottery in red mud and large format attended by Mr. josé and his family. Who has been awarded for his particular life story and the talent of his creation despite his physical condition. An unforgettable experience. 2. - We will visit the workshop of one of the most renowned organic sculptors for his sculptures with curl and immortal flower. The "Immortal Flower" This is perhaps the most fascinating flower in the community due to its unique artisanal use. It is so called because, even after cutting and drying, it retains its bright colors (icing, yellow, pink, white) for years. With it, craft families create three-dimensional figures on christmas structures: virgins, saints, hearts and angels used in Calendas and Convites. • Biushita : A small, white flower variety, highly appreciated for fine details in these crafts.

We visited several local embroidery workshops where the mastery of this art is expressed through the waxing of flowers within the everyday garments of the region. "Thoughts" (embroidered flowers of their own characteristics and complexity) take a major part in the pieces that each artisan creates. To finish our tour, we will visit the plots of some flower growers in the village to be able to acquire some and/or talk with them about their procedures, care and characteristics. All on a local and traditional level like the art of the whole region.
