Around 9:30 AM, arrive at Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park, one of Nagano's most popular attractions and home to Japan's famous wild Japanese macaques. Walk along the forest trail to the park and enjoy the opportunity to see the monkeys relaxing around the natural hot springs. In winter, the snow-covered landscape creates a beautiful setting, while every season offers a different experience. Take your time to enjoy the scenery and capture memorable photos. As the monkeys are wild animals, their behaviour and visibility can vary depending on the season and weather conditions.
At around 11:00 a.m., continue your Nagano sightseeing experience with a visit to the Hokusai Museum. Discover the work and artistic legacy of Katsushika Hokusai, one of Japan's most influential artists, and learn about his connection to the Nagano region.
At approximately 12:30 PM, visit Zenkoji Temple, one of Japan's most historic Buddhist temples. Explore the impressive temple grounds, admire the traditional architecture and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Around 2:00 p.m., head to Kagami Pond, a peaceful natural spot surrounded by forests and mountain scenery. The pond is known for its beautiful reflections of the surrounding landscape and offers a relaxing atmosphere and excellent photo opportunities. It is a perfect place to experience the quieter side of Nagano away from the main tourist areas. After completing your sightseeing, depart Nagano at around 2:30 PM and enjoy a comfortable private journey back to Tokyo. Depending on traffic and road conditions, arrival in Tokyo is expected around 5:00–6:00 PM, with convenient drop-off at your hotel or selected location.
