    Castillo de San Sebastian

San Sebastian Castle is one of the most unique fortresses in Cadiz, built on an ancient islet linked to the city by a road that disappears and reappears with the tides. For centuries it was a key part of the defensive system of Cadiz, protecting the entrance of the bay from pirates, enemy fleets and the force of the Atlantic. On this visit we will walk along its walls and discover the history hidden behind its gates: the origin of the castle in 1707, its defense systems, the ancient guard corps, artillery, the great Armstrong guns, the dungeons and the mysterious chapel. We will also learn about the relationship of the castle with the visit of Elizabeth II, the evolution of its lighthouses and the importance of this place for navigators from the Phoenician era to the present day. An experience that blends history, architecture, legends and spectacular views of the ocean from one of the most magical corners of Cadiz.
