We will start with valley of the kings and the tickets it’s included three tombs and any other tomb it will cost extra tickets Walking down into these ancient tombs feels exactly like stepping back into time. The colors on the walls are still so vibrant, it’s hard to believe they were painted thousands of years ago! A bucket-list moment that completely blew me away. If you go to Egypt, you simply cannot miss this.
If you only have time for a few tombs, make sure this is one of them! The colors are absolutely incredible, but the absolute highlight is looking up in the burial chamber. The deep blue ceiling is covered in stars and features a massive, breathtaking painting of the sky goddess Nut stretching across the heavens. Photos don’t do it justice
KV11 was easily my favorite tomb in the entire valley! The sheer length of it is jaw-dropping, and every single inch of the walls is carved with incredibly detailed, vibrant stories. Finding the famous blind harpists painted deep inside felt like discovering a secret. A total masterpiece that you absolutely have to experience in person!
The scale of Merenptah's tomb is absolutely massive! Walking down the wide, steep entrance feels incredibly grand and dramatic. The absolute highlight is the burial chamber at the bottom, where you stand next to a colossal stone sarcophagus lid with the Pharaoh's face carved beautifully into it. It is much less crowded than other tombs, which made the experience even more magical.
Words can’t describe the feeling of standing inside King Tut’s actual tomb. It is smaller than the others, but the history is overwhelming. Best of all, the boy king’s actual mummy is still resting inside a climate-controlled glass case right there in the room! It requires a separate ticket, but it is worth every single penny.
If you only step inside one tomb in Luxor, make it this one! The wall-to-wall art is so crisp and colorful it looks like it was painted yesterday, not thousands of years ago. Looking up at the double astronomical ceiling in the final chamber completely took my breath away. It is an absolute masterpiece!
Words cannot do justice to Seti I’s tomb. It requires a premium ticket, but it is worth every single cent. The reliefs are entirely 3D raised carvings—not just flat paintings—and the colors look as vivid as if they were done last week. Walking through its endless chambers felt like exploring a secret underground cathedral. Simply unforgettable!
This temple is an absolute architectural wonder! Rising out of the desert cliffs in three massive terraces, it looks incredibly modern even though it’s thousands of years old. Walking up the grand ramp past the colossal statues of Hatshepsut was a massive highlight of my Luxor trip. Don't forget your camera—the view looking out from the top terrace is unmatched!
You can't help but feel tiny standing next to these giant statues! They sit right on the side of the road, making them a super quick, easy, and free stop on your way to the Valley of the Kings. Seeing the sheer size of what's left of this ancient temple is mind-blowing. It's the perfect spot for a quick photo!
Karnak is absolutely mind-boggling. Standing in the Great Hypostyle Hall surrounded by 134 giant stone pillars feels like walking through a forest built for giants! Photos completely fail to capture the sheer, towering scale of this place. If you only visit one temple on the East Bank, make it this one!
