Today we enjoy a fascinating guided tour that takes us from Bogotá’s colonial past to its vibrant present. We begin at Paloquemao Market, one of the city’s most traditional markets, where we discover Colombia’s impressive variety of fruits and vegetables while experiencing authentic local daily life.
Next, we ascend by cable car or funicular (subject to availability) to Monserrate, Bogotá’s most iconic mountain and an important pilgrimage site. From the top, we enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the capital and the surrounding high plains. The tour continues on foot through the historic center, where Bogotá reveals its most nostalgic side: colonial streets, government buildings, theaters, museums, libraries, and lively urban scenes. At Plaza de Bolívar, the political heart of the country, we see the main institutional buildings and the Palace of Justice. We continue along Carrera Séptima, until we reach the Church of San Francisco, the oldest church in Bogotá.

The people of Medellín, known as Paisas, are renowned for their warm hospitality and their deep appreciation for music, art, and literature. Notably, it is the birthplace of the internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor, Fernando Botero, who has generously gifted many of his larger-than-life bronze sculptures that grace the Plaza Botero.

Around the turn of the millennium, Medellín was one of the world's most dangerous cities. In the early nineties, the hunt for Pablo Escobar, the head of the Medellín Cartel, reached its peak. When he was shot on a rooftop by Colombian military special forces, the reign of "El Patrón" suddenly came to an end. The battles continued with Escobar's successors until the millennium, and from 2002, Medellín gradually began to change for the better. Smart local politicians successfully began investing massively in infrastructure and public education. The "City of Eternal Spring" is regarded as one of the world's most innovative metropolises, boasting large public libraries and a well-functioning metro system. We embark on a fascinating tour of Medellín's past and present, learning about the transformation from a city once doomed to one revered by urban developers. Using public transportation, including the Metro and cable car, we head to the famous and infamous neighborhood of "Comuna 13."

Medellín - Nuquí

Nuquí is an exotic destination located on the Colombian Pacific coast, one of the best tourist sites for nature lovers which offers a surprising tranquility. It is a place that shines for the natural richness of flora and fauna, with whale watching being the most popular activity. Every year, from July to November, humpback whales visit the beaches of Nuquí. This spectacle takes place in a sea overflowing with plant and animal species, neighbors to the wildlife that hides behind the lush vegetation of the tropical rainforest.

La Kuka

After waking up to the sounds of the rainforest and the ocean, have breakfast before heading to the village of Termales. The walk along the beach takes about 1.5 h and you might cross little creeks and rocks. You will get to see some locals on their way to work, local fishermen in their traditional canoes and the chance to go for a refreshing swim whenever you feel like it. In Termales you experience the local life and can visit the pretty hot springs (entrance not included).
When you are finished exploring the village, you head back walking to the hotel for lunch. In exchange for an additional fee, a boat can also be arranged to take you back to La Kuka. In the afternoon Whale watching by speedboat (duration: about 3 h). We will be able to admire their spectacle when they eject 7 meters high water fountains and show us their massive tail fins.

Nuquí - La Kuka

Today we recommend having your guide take you along the beach to the Waterfall Cascada del Amor located about 30 min from the hotel. Going up to the waterfall you will cross the creek every now and then, so be prepared to get your feet wet. Duration: aprox. 4 hours
Back at the hotel you are served lunch. The afternoon is free to enjoy the beach, activities like surfing, snorkeling, etc (not included). Kayaks can be borrowed for free.
