After meeting at the meeting point and registering with your guide and driver, begin the journey toward the Gobi Desert and the spectacular White Stupa (Tsagaan Suvarga). This breathtaking limestone escarpment rises nearly 30 meters high and stretches for hundreds of meters, shaped by wind and water erosion over millions of years. The colorful layers of white, pink, and orange resemble the ruins of an ancient city. The area was once covered by a prehistoric sea, and marine fossils can still be found scattered across the surrounding plains. Enjoy a guided walk along the cliffs, panoramic photo stops, and time to admire the vast open landscapes of the Gobi. In the late afternoon, arrive at a nearby tourist camp, check in, and enjoy dinner under the wide Mongolian sky. Overnight at a tourist camp.
After breakfast, continue your journey deeper into the Gobi region toward Yol Valley. Proceed into Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, home to dramatic mountain ranges, deep canyons, and rare wildlife. Yol Valley, also known as the “Valley of the Vultures,” is famous for its towering rock walls and permanent ice fields that often remain frozen even during the summer months. Explore the valley on a scenic horseback riding tour, following narrow trails along the frozen riverbed and between high canyon walls. Keep an eye out for ibex, wild sheep, and soaring lammergeier vultures overhead. In the evening, arrive at your tourist camp, enjoy dinner, and relax in the peaceful desert surroundings.
After a hearty breakfast, depart for the legendary Khongor Sand Dunes, the largest and most impressive dunes in Mongolia. These golden dunes, known as the “Singing Dunes,” stretch over 180 kilometers and rise more than 300 meters high. When the wind blows, the sand creates a deep humming sound that echoes across the desert, giving the area a mystical atmosphere. Visit a local nomadic camel herding family and enjoy a traditional welcome. Experience a memorable Bactrian camel ride across the desert landscape, explore nearby green oases, and climb to the top of the dunes for breathtaking panoramic views of the Gobi Desert. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, travel to the world-famous Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs, named for their brilliant red color at sunset. This historic site is where American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews discovered the world’s first fossilized dinosaur eggs in the 1920s, bringing global attention to Mongolia’s rich prehistoric heritage. Explore the area on foot, walk among the sandstone formations, and imagine the ancient world that once existed here. In the afternoon, continue to Dalanzadgad City. Visit the Gobi Natural History Museum for deeper insight into the region’s fossils, wildlife, and environment. Check into your hotel, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, and relax for the night
After breakfast, depart for Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a stunning granite rock formation rising dramatically from the open steppe. This unique area is known for its hidden caves, ancient rock inscriptions, and the ruins of a small historical monastery. Take time to explore the rock formations, walk through narrow passages, and enjoy the wide-open landscapes. In the evening, witness a magnificent sunset, when the rocks glow in shades of gold and red, making it one of the most photogenic locations in central Mongolia. Dinner and overnight at a nearby camp.
After an early breakfast, begin the drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival in the afternoon, enjoy free time for souvenir and cashmere shopping in local markets and shopping centers. In the evening, attend a traditional Mongolian folk concert featuring throat singing, traditional instruments, and colorful dances, followed by a farewell dinner with your guide and driver to celebrate the end of your journey.
