Upon arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your Maralgoo Dreamland Travel driver and transferred comfortably to your 4★ hotel in Ulaanbaatar. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and recover from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a gentle walk around the city center or relax at your hotel. Your guide will provide a short briefing about the upcoming journey.
After breakfast, we begin with a visit to Gandan Monastery, the largest functioning Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. The highlight is the magnificent 26-meter gilded statue of Megjid Janraisig. We then depart the city and drive toward Hustai National Park, home of the rare and endangered Takhi (Przewalski’s wild horse)
Today we travel west to historic Kharkhorin, site of the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, Karakorum founded by Genghis Khan in 1220.
After breakfast, journey south into the vast landscapes of the Middle Gobi. Arrive at Ongi River valley and explore the ruins of Ongi Monastery, once a large religious center with over 30 temples before its destruction in the 1930s
Drive across the open Ongi steppe toward the legendary Bayanzag. This site became world-famous after American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews discovered the first dinosaur egg nests here in 1923.
Travel deeper into the Gobi to the magnificent Khongor Sand Dunes, stretching over 180 km. After lunch and rest, visit a local camel-herding family and learn about traditional desert nomadic life.
Drive to Yol Valley in the Gurvan Saikhan National Park.
Morning transfer to local airport and domestic flight to Ulaanbaatar. Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park.
Visit the monumental Genghis Khan Statue Complex, the tallest equestrian statue in the world (40m).
