The Beginner Japanese Knife Sharpening Workshop focuses on traditional sharpening. You will use a Japanese knife with its handle already attached and take the knife home after sharpening it. Blade or handle selection, handle fitting, handle changes, and initial stamping are not included.
The Custom Japanese Knife-Making Workshop includes choosing your preferred blade and handle, sharpening the blade, fitting the handle, finishing the knife, and stamping your initials. Take your finished custom knife home as a unique Kyoto souvenir.
No previous knife-making or sharpening experience is required. Your instructor will guide you step by step.
The approximately 1-hour workshop is easy to combine with sightseeing in Arashiyama.
