From Palermo: Excursion to Castellammare, Erice and Segesta

9 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

Your first stop will be the enchanting Castellammare del Golfo, a gem set between the rocks and the turquoise sea. The perfect way to start the day: breathing in the brackish air of this picturesque seaside village.

The journey continues to the summit of Monte San Giuliano, where the legendary Erice rises. In this medieval village suspended in the clouds, you will have time to lose yourself in the cobbled alleys and admire breathtaking views, with a look at the salt pans of Trapani up to the Egadi Islands. Admire the castle of Venus, discover the secrets of the ancient pottery shops or take a greedy break in the historic pastry shops to taste the famous almond cakes.

The highlight of the trip awaits you in Segesta, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Europe. Here, immersed in an almost mystical silence among the wild hills, you will admire the majestic Doric Temple, which has remained intact over the centuries, and the ancient theater carved into the rock overlooking the valley.
