    Arrival in Tana : After completing all necessary airport formalities, we will meet at the airport exit. After the first meeting, transfer to your hotel. After the long flight, you deserve a rest. If time permits, we'll take another walk through the city.

    Tana – Andasibe

    Andasibe

    We leave Antananarivo in the morning and head east. The road winds through the green highlands, past traditional clay buildings and endless rice fields. On the way we can stop in Marozevo to visit the private reptile and butterfly reserve. Chameleons, geckos and colorful butterflies can be observed in their natural habitat. In the afternoon we reach Andasibe, a small village on the edge of the rainforest. The lush vegetation and moist forest air set us in the mood for the upcoming nature experiences.

    Andasibe – Analamazaotra National Park

    Andasibe

    Early in the morning we leave for Analamazaotra National Park. We hike through the dense rainforest, accompanied by the loud calls of the Indris, the largest species of lemur in Madagascar. With a bit of luck we will also discover chameleons, birds and other lemurs. The mossy soil, high humidity and the chirping of exotic birds create a unique atmosphere. The day ends with an optional night hike, with nocturnal animals such as chameleons and small lemurs to watch

    Andasibe – Antsirabe

    We drive back to Antananarivo and continue our journey south. The road leads through the central Highlands with rice fields, pine forests and lively small towns. In Ambatolampy we visit a traditional aluminium foundry and experience how recycled materials are turned into cooking pots. In the late afternoon we arrive at Antsirabe, a charming city with colonial flair, where colorful rickshaw vehicles and the mild climate welcome us.

    Antsirabe – Morondava

    Morondava

    Very early we start the long drive west. The landscape changes dramatically : mountains give way to vast plains and dry savanna. Along the way we observe rural life and stop at small markets or for photo breaks. In the villages, we discover traditional clay buildings and meet curious children. In the evening we reach Morondava, where the Indian Ocean welcomes us with a sunset and fresh sea breeze.

    Morondava – Bekopaka

    Early in the morning we drive to the famous Baobab Avenue. After a short photo stop we continue on sandy slopes, including several river crossings. We cross remote villages and savannah landscapes before arriving in the late afternoon at Bekopaka – the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha. The drive is long but full of adventure and scenic contrasts.     Bekopaka – Grand Tsingy

    Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

    After breakfast we drive to the entrance of the Grand Tsingy. Equipped with climbing harnesses and helmets, we begin a spectacular hike through narrow limestone gorges, over suspension bridges and to breathtaking viewpoints. The unique geology as well as endemic flora and fauna make this place a highlight of the trip. The climbing passages are well secured, but require surefootedness and dizziness. Shorter routes are available for less experienced.

    Bekopaka – Kirindy

    Kirindy Forest Morondava Madagascar

    We start with a boat trip on the Manambolo River, passing limestone cliffs and caves with ancient burial sites. The bizarre rock formations and the tranquility of the river create an almost mystical atmosphere. After that we start the return journey south. The landscape changes from dense vegetation to drier bushland. In the evening we reach Kirindy, where we can observe nocturnal animals on a guided night hike – perhaps even the shy Fossa.

    After breakfast, you will take an approximately two-hour tour of Kirindy Forest, known for its exceptional biodiversity. You will have the opportunity to observe different species of lemurs, including sifakas, fulvus and some nocturnal species. In the afternoon, continue to the famous avenue of the Baobabs, where you can discover this iconic place and enjoy an impressive sunset in a unique natural setting.

    We continue our journey on remote paths, crossing dry forests, savannas and small rivers. The ride is adventurous, but offers magnificent views of rural Madagascar.     We leave the coast and drive through savannah landscapes and the Mahafaly plateau to Ranohira, the gateway to the Isalo massif. Along the way, we visit traditional tombs and learn more about the culture of the Bara and Mahafaly people. Again and again, wide views of dry steppes and bizarre rock formations open up. In the evening we admire the reddish cliffs in the light of the setting sun

    We hike through the spectacular landscape of the Isalo National Park. The trail takes us through sandstone formations, deep gorges and natural pools where we can swim. The play of light and shadow in the canyons is particularly impressive. With a bit of luck, we'll see lemurs, including katta and red-faced lemurs. The day ends with a fantastic view over the valley.

    Isalo – Tsaranoro

    We drive over the Horombe plateau towards Andringitra massif. The landscape changes : bare plateaus give way to fertile valleys and granite cliffs. Small villages with red mud houses and grazing zebus line the path. At the foot of the Tsaranoro massif we move into a cosy lodge with a view of the mountains.

    Today we take a hike in the Tsaranoro Valley. We cross small forests, rocky plateaus and rice fields. The quiet nature, spectacular views and life in the Betsileo villages make this day unforgettable.

    We leave the Andringitra massif and head east. The road winds through hilly landscapes and tea growing areas until we reach the lush rainforest of Ranomafana.     We leave the rainforest and head back to the central highlands. The landscape becomes drier but alive with terraced fields and villages.     Antsirabe – Surroundings & school visit

    Today we explore the surroundings of Antsirabe. In the morning we drive to Lac Tritriva, a mystical crater lake in an extinct volcano. We walk along the shore and enjoy the view of the surrounding rocks. Along the way we learn the legend of the lovers who once laid down their lives here. A special moment is a visit to a local school where we get insights into the everyday lives of children and teachers

    Antsirabe – Tana
