Along this 17-mile loop you'll venture a little bit farther afield than most while still visiting the must-see highlights of the Kennebunks.
And don't worry; this isn't a whirlwind tour. Your guide will make sure to allow plenty of time to stop, learn about local history, dip your toes in the ocean, and take pictures.
This is a true e-bike adventure, traversing a variety of environments with lots of opportunities to cruise and enjoy the ride. Your well-maintained class 2 e-bikes make it possible without working up too much of a sweat.
Never ridden an e-bike before? No worries. If you can ride a regular bicycle, you'll be fine. Your patient and personable guide will demonstrate everything you need to know before the tour begins.
Meet at the shop in Kennebunk's Lower Village. We are located at 8 Western Ave., in the Federal Jack's plaza. Paid parking is available. Please pay for parking at the kiosk. If the lot is full, you may park for free at 30 North St., Kennebunkport, a .6-mile walk from the shop.
We'll cycle through the Kennebunkport Historic District, where sea captains and captains of industry once built their stately mansions. We'll pause to learn about one of the homes and stroll through a lush flower garden dedicated to one of America's favorite first ladies.

An iconic historic church, featuring stunning stone architecture, beautiful stained glass windows, and amazing ocean views. While we watch the sailboats go by, we'll talk about the history of the location and then take a peak inside.
The one-time "summer White House." We'll stop to take pictures and learn about the lives of Kennebunkport's most famous summer residents.
A working fishing/lobster pier featuring incredible harbor views. From here we can see the Goat Island Lighthouse, which dates back to the 19th century. You'll learn about the lighthouse's history and take pictures of the beautiful ring of islands surrounding the harbor.
We'll visit one of the most beautiful stretches of sandy beach in New England. As you gaze back along the coastline and marvel at how far we've come, you might catch a glimpse of a harbor seal bobbing in the surf.
Before heading back to town, your tour will wind down a dirt road from the Emmons Preserve, one of the conservation crown jewels of the Kennebunkport area. This former farm has been fully reclaimed by a stately forest of white pines and red maples.
