Discover the beauty of Nevada County on this private day tour for up to 4 adults. Your experience begins with pickup at 9:30 a.m. from your hotel, Airbnb, or campground, followed by a scenic drive to Edwards Crossing. From there, enjoy a moderate 25 to 35 minute hike to a beautiful Yuba River waterfall area, where you’ll relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy a picnic lunch. Vegan and gluten free lunch options are available. In warm months, strong swimmers may have time for a refreshing swim before the hike back.
After the river, enjoy a scenic drive into historic downtown Nevada City, where you can stop for famous hand churned ice cream or wine tasting. Then continue with a walk on the Deer Creek Tribute Trail. To finish the day, head to historic downtown Grass Valley for shopping and an optional dinner at places such as The Holbrooke or Kaido. Dinner, ice cream, and wine are not included.

Yuba River Waterfall Hike and Picnic. Begin your day with one of Nevada County’s most refreshing natural experiences. After a scenic drive to Edwards Crossing, guests will enjoy a guided moderate hike to a beautiful waterfall and river area tucked into the Yuba River canyon. The trail takes about 25 to 35 minutes each way and offers a rewarding arrival at a peaceful spot to relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy a fresh picnic lunch by the water. Better for adults. During warmer months, strong swimmers may also have time to cool off in the river before hiking back out. Scenic Drive to Historic Nevada City with Ice Cream or Wine Tasting After your time at the river, enjoy a scenic drive back into the heart of historic Nevada City, one of California’s most charming Gold Rush towns. There, guests can choose between a stop for famous hand-churned ice cream or a relaxed wine tasting experience while taking in the beauty of the historic downtown. This portion of the tour offers time to slow down, stroll the streets, enjoy the local atmosphere, and experience the town’s unique blend of history, charm, and Sierra foothill culture. Please note: the cost of ice cream or wine is not included in the tour price.
