I will wait for you on the porch of the big white farmhouse, across the road from the mailbox marked 941. There is a GoatWalkabout sign by the road. Navigators sometimes send people to my neighbors which is inconvenient.

What to expect

Experience an ancient tradition of herding, traveling the land with the cashmere goats as they seek their meal. Guide them to the best spots, and follow them as they sample the delicacies of the meadows and woods. Listen to their bells, call them, and learn their language to become a true goat whisperer.

Please dress for the elements with covered ankles and arms, wear sturdy hiking boots, and bring along a water bottle to stay hydrated. Do not forget a hat to suit the season!

The journey covers over a mile of varied terrain, offering a glimpse into the unseen corners of farm life. From marshes to creeks and open fields to shaded groves, each step is a relaxed stride into the heart of the countryside and sustainable food production.
