There's no other hike near Denver where your trail buddy is a rescue goat. At Matthews/Winters Park, you'll walk past the sparse remains of Mount Vernon, a Gold Rush ghost town, and one of Colorado's oldest cemeteries, all at whatever pace the goats feel like setting.
