Your wonderful day begins with a private pickup in Shanghai, followed by a guided tour to Suzhou by high-speed train. To ensure a pleasant experience, we have arranged a recommended itinerary for you. However, since this tour is completely up to you, you are welcome to discuss with your guide a customized itinerary during the train ride.
According to the recommended itinerary, your first stop is Humble Administrator's Garden, a World Cultural Heritage Site in Suzhou and the foremost among China's four great classical gardens, widely regarded as the pinnacle of Jiangnan gardens. The garden's pavilions, terraces, and towers are built by the water's edge. As you stroll through it, every step reveals a new scene, with white walls, dark-tiled roofs, and exquisitely arranged rockeries forming a poetic landscape. Spend an hour and a half wandering leisurely here, and through every grass and bush, you can understand the most authentic essence of exquisite life in Eastern China.
Next, we will visit Panmen Gate. Passing through the ancient gate feels like being instantly transported back to an era when glory and resilience coexisted. Here, traditions echo endlessly across the river of time, while pagodas and temples stand alongside the ancient city walls. This vibrant cultural heritage invites you to wander through rustic parks and tranquil courtyards, where golden fish glide gracefully through serene ponds. Beneath the lush shade, you will discover a world where time seems to stand still - a realm where history and nature intertwine, offering moments of pure enchantment and quiet beauty.
Then, we will head to Xiyuan Temple, an ancient temple that combines yellow-walled halls with Su-style gardens. You can admire diverse Buddha statues in the Five Hundred Arhats Hall, stroll along the winding paths of the Western Garden and enjoy serene moments by the Liberation Pond.
Finally, we will head to Shantang Street, renowned as Suzhou's First Famous Street, where you can appreciate the Water Town from a distinctive perspective. Ride a hand-rowed boat gliding slowly along the river, and admire up close the waterside residences with white walls and dark-tiled roofs, as well as the thousand-year-old ancient bridges. In this peaceful moment, enjoy the tranquil charm of Jiangnan far away from the bustle of the city. Besides our recommended itinerary, you can also request to explore other attractions, such as Hanshan Temple, Lingering Garden, Pingjiang Road etc. After all, the purpose of a customized tour is to make the itinerary fully serve your interests and time.
