    Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire that burns continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula, near Baku. The flames have been blazing for centuries due to gas seeping from the ground, creating a unique natural phenomenon. Its name means “Burning Mountain,” and it is one of Azerbaijan’s most famous landmarks, reflecting the country’s nickname as the “Land of Fire.” Today, Yanar Dag is a popular tourist attraction, especially impressive to visit in the evening when the flames are more visible.
