Experience Funchal at a quieter, more atmospheric time of day on a private 1-hour tuk-tuk tour with me as your local driver-guide. We’ll explore the narrow streets and painted doors of the Old Town before reaching viewpoints over Funchal Bay and the Atlantic.
Depending on the season and start time, you may enjoy the warm evening light, sunset colours or the city glowing after dark. Along the way, I’ll share local stories and show you corners that many visitors miss, with time for photos.
Because this is a private tour, I’ll happily adapt the route to your interests, pace, the weather and traffic. I’ll also share tips for dinner, poncha and places to enjoy afterwards.
No two evening tours are quite the same, the light changes every time, and chasing it across the city is one of my favourite parts of the day. Time it right, and you’ll catch Funchal at its best, somewhere between the daytime bustle and the nightlife.

Meeting and pickup
Pick-up is included within Funchal at no extra cost. Your driver-guide can collect you from your hotel, apartment, cruise port area, restaurant, or another agreed meeting point within Funchal.
Please be ready 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. After booking, please send your exact pickup location, and your driver-guide will confirm the best meeting point.
If your accommodation is on a narrow or restricted street, a nearby pickup point may be arranged. Drop-off can also be arranged within Funchal, where safely accessible.

Funchal’s Old Town is best known for streets like Rua de Santa Maria, with its collection of brightly painted doors, narrow cobbled lanes and traditional local restaurants. These historic corners are one of the most characterful and photogenic sides of the city.

Pináculo is one of Funchal’s most photographed viewpoints, offering a rare perspective that looks back over the city from the cliffs of São Gonçalo. From here, enjoy sweeping views over the bay, the harbour and the Atlantic Ocean, with plenty of time for photos. Depending on the time of day and the weather, it’s also a wonderful spot to catch the sunset or watch the city lights come on after dark.
