The audio tour starts automatically when youre arrive at any stop along the Historic Columbia River Highway. No check-in needed. If coming from Portland, Vista House (the pinned location) is a natural first stop. Open the Ranger Tales app before you leave — it works offline.

End point

Your tour ends at Vista House at Crown Point — a 1918 stone observatory perched 733 feet above the Columbia River. Step inside the marble interior, look up at the stained-glass dome, and take in the legendary panoramic view of the gorge you've just traveled.

    The 620-foot crown jewel of the Columbia River Gorge — the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the United States. The Benson Bridge, built 1925, crosses between the upper and lower falls.
