Discover Bayonne, the cultural heart of the French Basque Country. Walk through its colourful old town, admire its traditional architecture and explore the streets shaped by the Nive and Adour rivers. Along the way, learn about the city’s Basque identity, its famous festivals and its long connection with chocolate and Bayonne ham. Depending on the day, there may also be time to visit a local shop or taste a regional speciality.

2Biarritz
Continue to Biarritz, an elegant seaside city where royal history, Basque traditions and surf culture come together. During the visit, discover the Grande Plage, the Hôtel du Palais, the old fishing harbour and the Rocher de la Vierge. Learn how a former whaling village became one of Europe’s most fashionable coastal resorts. There will also be time to enjoy lunch and explore part of the city at your own pace.

3Saint-Jean-de-Luz
Explore one of the most charming towns on the French Basque Coast. Walk beside the fishing harbour, discover its historic streets and hear stories of fishermen, corsairs and wealthy shipowners. Visit the area around Place Louis XIV and the Church of Saint John the Baptist, where Louis XIV married Maria Theresa of Spain. You will also have some free time to browse local shops, enjoy a coffee or taste a traditional speciality.

4Corniche Basque
End the day with a scenic drive along the Basque Corniche, one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the region. We will stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the cliffs, the Atlantic Ocean and the traditional landscapes that connect the mountains with the sea. It is a peaceful and memorable way to finish the experience before returning to San Sebastián.

5Hondarribia
If time and your interests allow, we may finish the day in Hondarribia, one of the most charming fishing towns on the Spanish Basque coast. Walk through the colorful Marina neighborhood, explore the historic quarter or finish the experience with a pintxo and a drink before returning to San Sebastián. This optional stop can replace additional free time or a longer lunch elsewhere on the route.
