After traveling comfortably from San Sebastian, your guide will accompany you through the story of Bernadette and the apparitions before allowing space for the gestures at the heart of the Lourdes pilgrimage: time for prayer at the Grotto, drinking and washing with the spring water, and lighting a devotional candle in the Chapels of Light. A small candle is offered by us for you to light with your own prayer or intention.

Visit the spiritual heart of Lourdes, the Grotto of Massabielle. Hear the story of Bernadette’s encounters here and take time for silence, prayer and contemplation. Those who wish may also follow the traditional gesture of touching the rock of the Grotto.

Step into one of the most intimate and prayerful spaces in Lourdes. Located just above the Grotto and beneath the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the Crypt was one of the first places of worship built in response to the apparitions. Take a few quiet moments here for personal prayer, reflection or simply to experience the stillness of the Sanctuary away from the crowds.
