1Mutianyu Great Wall
Travelers start at Mutianyu, Beijing's most scenic and lush Great Wall section with layered mountains and fewer crowds. A cable car takes them to higher watchtowers for panoramic views and photos, followed by a stroll along the wall to admire Ming‑dynasty brickwork while listening to English commentary on its history. Then they visit an ancient village at the foot of the wall – home to generations of wall‑guarding families – for a farmhouse lunch with seasonal local produce, a walk along quiet stone lanes, and stories of frontier life. Afterward, they choose a hands‑on craft (paper‑cutting, kite, rubbing, sachet, or fruit‑package design) with all materials provided. The day ends with mountain courtyard tea, pastries, and fruit, plus a small market of local produce – all before returning to the city.
