Mutianyu Great Wall Adventure Tour

8 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Pickup offered
Offered in: English and 1 more

This 8-person small-group tour takes you beyond the usual Great Wall visit to explore the Mutianyu section – the most scenic and lush part of the Wall near Beijing, with sweeping mountain views, dense watchtowers, and far fewer crowds than other sections. And there is also an 8‑person private group option available for those who prefer a more exclusive and personalized experience.

What sets this experience apart is the immersive journey into an authentic village at the foot of the Wall, where families have guarded this frontier for generations. You will not only walk the ancient fortifications with a cable car included for easy access, but also step into local life.

A hands‑on craft session – choose from paper‑cutting, kite making, rubbing, herbal sachet, or fruit preserve packaging – lets you create a unique souvenir, while a mountain courtyard afternoon tea offers a moment to relax and take in the tranquil views.

    Mutianyu Great Wall

Travelers start at Mutianyu, Beijing's most scenic and lush Great Wall section with layered mountains and fewer crowds. A cable car takes them to higher watchtowers for panoramic views and photos, followed by a stroll along the wall to admire Ming‑dynasty brickwork while listening to English commentary on its history. Then they visit an ancient village at the foot of the wall – home to generations of wall‑guarding families – for a farmhouse lunch with seasonal local produce, a walk along quiet stone lanes, and stories of frontier life. Afterward, they choose a hands‑on craft (paper‑cutting, kite, rubbing, sachet, or fruit‑package design) with all materials provided. The day ends with mountain courtyard tea, pastries, and fruit, plus a small market of local produce – all before returning to the city.
