Leave the mainland behind and go off grid on an unforgettable three-day adventure through Kangaroo Island, one of Australia’s wildest landscapes. Travel in a small group with expert local guides, hiking dramatic coastlines, exploring Flinders Chase National Park and getting up close with endangered sea lions at Seal Bay. Spot koalas, taste local honey and coastal wines, and sleep beneath star-filled skies.
Go beyond adventure with hands-on conservation through our Passport to Recovery partnership, meaningful beach clean-ups and optional wild dolphin or seal snorkelling. With fewer crowds and seasonal wildlife, April, May and September offer a slower, wilder side of the island, with itineraries adapting to weather and conditions while all advertised inclusions remain the same.

If we are staying on land, we spend the morning experiencing another side of the island through local community and producer experiences. We visit the Kangaroo Island Sculpture Trail, learn about the island’s famous Ligurian bees at a local honey farm, enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch and stop by Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery to learn more about one of Australia’s most iconic local products.
Next, visit family-owned Dudley Wines, where you can sprawl out on their lush lawns and take in the incredible views over the ocean – the perfect place to relax and connect with your fellow travellers.
Come late afternoon, arrive at our eco-campsite, aptly named “Happiness”. Featuring private access to one of Kangaroo Island’s most stunning beaches – Antechamber Bay, you’ll be right at home here for the next two nights. Enjoy some free time to relax or take a walk down to the beach. Tonight, roll out your swag underneath the billions of stars of the Milky Way and feel an incredible connection with nature. Today we drive approximately 240 km.
After breakfast, it's time to kick off the day with one of Kangaroo Island's most iconic wildlife encounters. At Seal Bay, join a guided 45-minute tour with National Parks & Wildlife rangers and get up close with Australia's third-largest colony of endangered sea lions— around 800 call this place home. Wander the boardwalk through coastal dunes, spotting sea lions snoozing in the sun, sprawled across the beach, or even lying right across the path. Learn about the species' fight for survival and the conservation efforts helping to protect them.
Next up: an island icon. We head west to Flinders Chase National Park, a wild wonderland of rugged cliffs, native bush, and jaw-dropping rock formations. Stroll the boardwalk at Admirals Arch, keeping an eye out for New Zealand fur seals lounging below. Then prepare to be wowed by the legendary Remarkable Rocks—500 million years in the making and as photogenic as they come
After a full day, head back towards camp to reflect and relax over dinner before rolling out your swag and counting shooting stars. Today, we drive approximately 340 km.
Kick off the final day with a refreshing morning bush walk near camp before packing up and hitting the road. First stop is Cape Willoughby, home to South Australia's first lighthouse. Perched above dramatic cliffs, it offers sweeping views and stories from Kangaroo Island's rich maritime past.
Next up is Pennington Bay, where powerful swells crash against the southern coastline. From here, tackle the 500 steps up to Prospect Hill, one of the island's highest vantage points. The panoramic views are absolutely worth the effort.
From the coastline, we tackle the climb up Prospect Hill, one of the highest vantage points on the island. Reaching the top rewards us with sweeping views across Kangaroo Island, giving a final reminder of just how wild and untouched this part of Australia still feels.
If time allows, we stop in Kingscote for a final taste of island life, whether that means a swim off the jetty, a relaxed picnic lunch, or enjoying a cold beer in the sunshine before making our way home.
By late afternoon, we return to Penneshaw to board the ferry back to the mainland before arriving in Adelaide at approximately 9:00 pm, wrapping up three days of wildlife encounters, coastal landscapes and a side of Australia many travellers never expect to discover.
