When entering into the park do not go through the main arch way from the parking lot. instead, go to the south side of the parking lot where the kayak launch ramp is located.

From launch, you move at the water's pace — quiet enough to drift up on a manatee grazing in the shallows or a heron stalking the bank. Your guide reads the water and season to put you where the animals are. In cooler months, gentle manatees move into the warm spring water, often surfacing just feet from your kayak. Year-round, watch for turtles on sunny logs, basking alligators, river otters, and abundant birds — anhingas, egrets, ibis, and ospreys overhead. You may even spot the area's famous wild monkeys in the treetops.
