This two-hour walk with a local guide tells their stories, while giving you the chance to soak up the atmosphere and admire the views that drew them here in the first place.

Meeting and pickup
Meet your guide on Little Green opposite Richmond Theatre - just a 3 minute walk from Richmond train station. Directions: Exit station and turn left. After 20m, cross at the crossing and go straight ahead through Old Station Passage. After 50m, turn left into little Green. The theatre is 50m ahead.
The tour ends on Richmond Hill with the its famous view over the River Thames. From here you can go up to Richmond Park, down to the river, or stay for a drink at Richmond's oldest pub!

From our meeting point opposite the theatre, Richmond's story begins. You'll see where the Rolling Stones launched their career, following in the footsteps of some of England's most celebrated entertainers.

Famously picturesque, and the front lawn to what was once England's grandest royal palace - Richmond Green has been the focal point of unlikely events ever since Henry I decided it would be a nice spot for a country house way back in 1107.

3One Paved Court
Dating from Elizabethan times, soak up the atmosphere of Richmond's ancient shopping lanes - made recently famous as the home of Ted Lasso.

4Richmond Riverside
We continue our walk through the old Palace, home to Henry VIII and Elizabeth I - and down to the river front, with it's flooded pub, the oldest bridge across the Thames, and a royal boat builder!

Passing through beautiful gardens and hidden pathways, we finish on Richmond Hill, with the famous view that inspired Turner, Jagger and more. From here you can stay for a drink at Richmond's oldest pub, or head off for further discoveries. We'll point you in the right direction - and leave the rest to you.
