Famous for yielding hundreds of rock and mineral types, it is the only place on Earth where you can find Llanite—a rare, visually striking rock with dark blue quartz and orange feldspar. Also nearby is Kingsland Slab one of several places along the river where you can collect rocks or just wade through the Llano River. Supposedly there's also gold in this river.
