Private MTB Ride to Passo Nota and Bocca dei Fortini

6 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

A private tour from Riva del Garda over the old WWI military roads of the Ledro Alps — with Lake Garda below you for half the ride and a stop at Lake Ledro along the way.

We warm up on the legendary Ponale road, carved into the cliffs above Lake Garda, climb past Lake Ledro (optional swim or coffee stop on the shore) and continue up to the ridge at Bocca dei Fortini, where Lake Garda glitters on one side and the green Ledro valley unfolds on the other. At Passo Nota (1,207 m) we rest at an alpine refuge, traverse the military road to Passo Guil, then descend into the valley at Pré di Ledro. The finale: the Ponale again — this time rolling gently down towards the lake, with the water rising to meet you all the way back to Riva.

Private means private: just your group and a certified local guide who plans the route, watches the weather, sets a calm pace and adapts every section to your level — while capturing photos and videos of your ride. Around 6 hours with stops.

We ride up the legendary Ponale road — a 19th-century route blasted into the sheer cliffs above Lake Garda, now one of the most scenic bike climbs in the Alps. The lake stays below you the whole way, and we stop at the best viewpoints for photos.

After climbing about 400 m up from the Ponale road, we reach Lake Ledro — a clear alpine lake sitting at 650 m in a green valley. An optional stop on the shore: a quick swim in the warm months, a coffee with a view, or we simply roll on if the group prefers to keep riding.

Passo Nota (1,207 m) — a quiet mountain pass where old WWI military roads meet, and our main rest stop of the day. The Rifugio Alpini serves coffee, drinks and simple mountain food on its terrace. Time to refuel, enjoy the silence and hear how these roads were carved during the war — before the long, scenic descent back towards Riva del Garda begins right from this point.
