We will begin with a brief introduction to the history of the instrument and its role in Brazil's cultural, spiritual, and musical traditions. Each participant will then receive an Atabaque and learn basic playing techniques in a welcoming and interactive environment.

Throughout the workshop, participants will learn four traditional Afro-Brazilian rhythms: Ijexá, Jurema, Adarrum, and Maculelê. Beyond learning how to play each rhythm, travelers will discover their origins, meanings, and cultural significance.
