Sukhbaatar Square is the central square of Ulaanbaatar and the heart of the city. Right in front of the Government Palace, you will see the grand, giant statue of Chinggis Khaan, surrounded by two of the other most important rulers in Mongolian history: Oghedei and Khubilai Khaan. This is the ultimate spot to get a picture for your holiday card! As a pro videographer/photographer, I would be happy to help you capture the perfect shot here.
Gandan Monastery is the largest and most important active Buddhist center in Mongolia. During our visit, you will experience firsthand how Mongolian-style Buddhist temples operate, and perhaps even sit in to hear the monks chanting. If you are interested, you can also obtain blessed water and incense to cleanse your aura or your home when you return—just let me know in advance! A major highlight is the magnificent, 26-meter-tall gilded statue of Megjid Janraiseg (the Bodhisattva of Compassion), one of our country's most significant Buddhist structures. While exploring the grounds is free, entry to the main statue temple requires a small ticket fee which is included in the tour fee.
This museum offers a complete overview of Mongolia’s history, from its ancient origins to the modern era, through a fascinating collection of artifacts. It is a concise yet thorough way to understand the nation's past, and even features the traditional costumes and accessories of all 20+ Mongolian ethnic groups. On the side note, if you have extra time in Ulaanbaatar, I highly recommend visiting the Chinggis Khaan Museum as well. It is much larger and more comprehensive, focusing deeply on the Great Khaan and Mongolian nomadic culture — it requires at least 2 to 3 hours to explore it.
Experience an enchanting and impressive concert showcasing Mongolia’s rich folklore songs, traditional dances, and the internationally acclaimed arts of throat singing and contortion. This performance offers a brilliant introduction to Mongolian artistic mastery, featuring the powerful melodies of the horsehead fiddle, mesmerizing contortionists’ performance, and unique choreography in their truest forms. The evening also features a TSAM-inspired Buddhist ritual dance, where stories of deities are brought to life through exaggerated traditional costumes and expressive, over-the-top masks—one of Mongolia's most striking performing arts. This ticket is NOT included in our tour fee. Guest is expected to pay for this concert fee on-site (USD12 per person) if they choose to visit there.
Zaisan Hill offers a beautiful panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar, paired with a striking Soviet-style memorial. Erected in 1971, the monument honors the allied Mongolian and Soviet soldiers killed in World War II, standing as a permanent tribute to the historical friendship and military collaboration between the two nations.
