Create your own one-of-a-kind Japanese chopsticks using traditional woodworking techniques. Choose from a variety of wood types, shape and finish them by hand, and take your handmade chopsticks home the same day. Optional premium wood upgrades are available. The workshop is conveniently located just a few minutes from Ueno Station and is suitable for beginners.

Please come directly to CRAFTJAPAN Ueno. Our workshop is located on the 1st floor of Sakai Building, a 3-minute walk from JR Ueno Station (Hirokoji Exit). Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled start time.

What to expect

Create your own pair of Japanese chopsticks in a traditional woodworking workshop near Ueno Station. Choose your favorite wood from a variety of premium Japanese and international woods, shape your chopsticks using traditional hand tools, sand them smooth, and finish them with natural oil. No experience is required, and our friendly staff will guide you through every step. Take home a unique handmade souvenir that you can use every day. The experience lasts approximately 60 minutes.
