Breaking Bap is a meat-lover's food tour through the heart of Seoul, designed to give you the greatest hits of Korean food. The only tour that gives you all the five core food groups: chicken, pork, beef, munchies, and alcohol. A very meaty experience perfect for picky eaters and adventurous eaters alike.
밥 (Bap) is the Korean word for rice, and by extension, food itself (e.g. Koreans ask "have you eaten bap?" as one of the first questions they ask when checking on you because in the past when the country was poor, it wasn't a given). It lives inside many dishes you know: 비빔밥 (bibimbap which means "mixed" rice), 김밥 (gimbap which means "dried seaweed" rice). Koreans historically didn't eat bread, so “breaking bread” was never their ritual. Sharing bap was. This tour is our version of that.
Your guide is an authentic Korean fluent in both English and Korean, someone who grew up eating this food and knows exactly how to unlock the full experience of eating in Seoul.
Let's break bap!
Meet on the street, by Exit 9, in front of the KFC.
We will be walking around hongdae, hitting up the best spots for the best foods. Itinerary includes fried chicken, pork BBQ, dakgalbi (BBQ chicken with melted cheese), and street foods. Why Hongdae? Because it is close to the best Seoul hostels and where you will most likely be spending your nights. There is plenty of food frequented by locals here, not to mention plenty of activities to keep you busy. You will likely travel to places like Namdaemun and Myeongdong anyway so this tour has been optimized for the biggest hits in the shortest amount of time.
