Impression Sanjie Liu, the world’s original natural landscape live show co-created by famous director Zhang Yimou, unfolds on the Li River in Yangshuo, Guilin. Taking glistening river water as its stage and 12 dreamy karst peaks as a natural backdrop, this 60-minute night spectacle centers on Liu Sanjie Ballads, China’s precious national intangible cultural heritage. Over 600 local fishermen and ethnic villagers from Zhuang, Dong, Miao and Yao groups perform authentic folk songs, fishing rituals, silver ornament dances and grand river bonfire scenes. Before the official show, you may join free interactive folk experiences: sing mountain duets with local singers, toss embroidered silk balls and watch live Dong lute & bronze drum shows. Bathed in soft river mist, glowing fishing lanterns and layered colorful lighting, it delivers an unrivaled immersive journey into southern China’s multi-ethnic rural soul and timeless riverside romance
