Transfer from La Aurora International Airport to Antigua Guatemala takes place on buses at specific times operating every hour, when you have your flight to Guatemala, you must tell us the time and flight you arrive to coordinate and schedule your pickup.
If you do not require pick-up at La Aurora Airport, the meeting point will be in Antigua Guatemala’s central park, opposite the Catholic Church.
After completing the entire circuit, the passengers are transferred to Mundo Maya International Airport, in Flores, Petén, so that they can take their domestic flight to La Aurora International Airport, from where they can take their flight to their destination country.
Your adventure begins upon arrival at La Aurora International Airport, where a professional driver will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation in the colonial city of Antigua Guatemala. During the approximately 70-minute journey, you can observe the contrast between the modern city and the mountainous landscapes of the Guatemalan highlands. As you approach Antigua Guatemala, you will begin to see the majestic volcanoes surrounding the city. Upon arrival, you will have time to settle into your boutique hotel and start enjoying the colonial atmosphere, cobblestone streets and tranquil atmosphere of this historic city.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin a fascinating tour of one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Latin America, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the guided city tour you will discover :• cobblestone streets surrounded by colorful colonial houses and florid balconies. • historic churches and convents that narrate the history of the colonial era. • The famous arch of Santa Catalina, one of the most photographed places in Guatemala. • Natural viewpoints from where you can appreciate spectacular views of the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango volcanoes. • Local craft markets where you will find textiles, jade, ceramics and handmade products from Mayan communities. This day begins early, leaving Antigua Guatemala for the Guatemalan highlands in the direction of Panajachel, gateway to the impressive Lake Atitlan. When you arrive in Panajachel you will board a boat to navigate the lake surrounded by volcanoes. This lake was described by writer Aldous Huxley as “the most beautiful lake in the world.” During the tour you will visit three traditional Mayan villages, each with its own cultural identity: • San Juan La Laguna – famous for its natural textile and local art cooperatives. • Santiago Atitlan – where you can learn about living Mayan traditions and the cult of Maximon. • San Pedro La Laguna – a charming village with relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views of the lake. You will have time to interact with local communities, learn about traditional crafts and enjoy regional cuisine.
This day begins early with transfer from your hotel to La Aurora International Airport for an approximately 45-minute flight to the Petén region, the heart of the Mayan world. Upon arrival at Mundo Maya airport, you will begin a tour of the picturesque Isla de Flores, a small colonial island located on Lake Petén Itzá. Colorful streets, lakefront restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere make Flores one of the most charming places in northern Guatemala. In the afternoon you will visit the impressive archaeological site of Yaxhá, an ancient Mayan city surrounded by jungle and lagoons. From the top of its temples you can see one of the most spectacular sunsets in the Mayan jungle.
This day you will discover one of the most impressive Mayan cities: Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the heart of the rainforest of Tikal National Park, this archaeological site was one of the most powerful cities in Mayan civilization. During the guided tour you will explore: • The Grand Square, the ceremonial center of the ancient city. • The majestic Temples I and II, which dominate the jungle horizon. • Pyramids rising above the jungle canopy. • Trails surrounded by nature where you can observe wildlife such as howler monkeys, toucans and coati. Walking among these ancient temples surrounded by the jungle is a truly unforgettable experience.
Early in the morning we will transfer you to Mundo Maya airport, so you can return to your destination country. Guatemala is a country that surprises, inspires and leaves a deep mark on those who visit.
