Under the guidance of an expert archaeologist, you'll excavate a simulated trench, uncovering replica artifacts and learning how to clean and analyze your findings. Meeting and pickup
Finding us is easy! Our studio is tucked away in a small alley. Look for the grey single-storey buildings with metal shutters—that's the right place. We'll be waiting for you at the entrance 5 minutes before the workshop starts to welcome you.
What to expect
You'll begin with a short introduction to archaeology and the history of ancient Athens before excavating a simulated archaeological trench to uncover replica artifacts. Next, you'll clean, examine, and identify your finds using the same methods archaeologists use in the field.
You'll learn how pottery helps archaeologists date archaeological layers, how everyday objects reveal the lives of ancient people, and how discoveries are documented and interpreted.
At the end of the workshop, you'll receive your own replica artifact and a personalized excavation find card to take home as a unique souvenir.
No previous knowledge is required-just curiosity.
