    DAY 1: IRINGA TOWN –GANGILONGA –KALENGA – ISIMILA –MUFINDI Pickup from Iringa Town Guests are picked up from their hotel, airport, or bus station in Iringa Town. The professional guide welcomes everyone and provides an introduction to the history of the Southern Highlands, the Hehe Kingdom, and the cultural importance of the places to be visited during the tour. Departure Gangilonga Rock Distance from Iringa Town: Approximately 2 km (5–10 minutes) Gangilonga Rock is one of Iringa's most famous historical landmarks. The massive granite rock is closely associated with Chief Mkwawa and the Hehe Kingdom. According to local traditions, the rock served as a strategic observation point and remains an important cultural symbol for the Hehe people. From the summit, visitors enjoy panoramic views of Iringa Town and the surrounding highlands.

    Iringa Boma - Regional Museum and Cultural Centre

    Kalenga Museum (Chief Mkwawa Museum) Distance from Gangilonga:Approximately 14 km (20–25 minutes) Kalenga is the birthplace of the legendary Chief Mkwawa, one of Tanzania's greatest resistance leaders against German colonial rule. The museum preserves original artefacts, traditional weapons, historical photographs, household items, and detailed information about the Hehe Kingdom. Visitors learn how the Hehe people organized their kingdom, defended their territory, and influenced Tanzania's history.

    Isimila Stone Age Site

    Isimila Stone Age Site Distance from Kalenga: Approximately 20 km (30 minutes) Isimila Stone Age Site is one of Africa's most significant archaeological sites. It contains prehistoric stone tools dating back tens of thousands of years and spectacular sandstone pillars shaped naturally by erosion over a very long period. The site offers valuable insight into the lives of early humans who once lived in this region. Lunch-Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Mufindi. Scenic Drive to Mufindi Drive through rolling hills, forests, villages, and beautiful agricultural landscapes of the Southern Highlands.
