    Osaka Castle

Walk through Osaka Castle Park with a professional storyteller in your ear. This self-guided English audio tour brings the dramatic final battle of the samurai era — the 1615 Summer Siege of Osaka — to life through a 9-episode narrated story, told in the style of traditional Japanese kamishibai picture-story theater. Created by a former member of the Shochiku Shinkigeki theater troupe who spent 20 years in North America and now works as a licensed English-speaking tour guide, this tour combines authentic storytelling craft with local historical knowledge you won't find in guidebooks. Choose from two GPS-guided walking routes: Route A (13 stops, starting from JR Osaka Castle Park Station) or Route B (11 stops, starting from Tanimachi 4-chome Station). As you walk, the app guides you to each spot, where you'll hear the story of the castle, the Toyotomi and Tokugawa clans, and the 14 legendary commanders who fought in the siege.
