    Vukovar Water Tower

The Vukovar Water Tower is the most recognizable landmark of Vukovar and one of Croatia's most important memorial sites. It symbolizes the courage, resilience, and unity of the people of Vukovar during the 1991 Battle of Vukovar. Although it was struck more than 600 times during the war, the tower remained standing and has been carefully restored while preserving its visible war damage as a permanent reminder of the city's history. Interactive displays provide insight into the events of 1991 and honor those who defended the city. From there, visitors follow the Memorial Path inside the tower, leading towards the observation deck. Along the way, they can see many of the original shell and bullet impacts, deliberately preserved, creating a powerful reminder of the tower's wartime past.
