Begin your adventure at Heaton Ranch Tours in Alton, Utah, where you'll meet your guide and travel by off-road vehicle into the scenic backcountry surrounding the ranch. Journey through remote landscapes featuring colorful cliffs, rugged terrain, and unique rock formations reminiscent of Bryce Canyon, located on the opposite side of the mountain. Upon reaching the trailhead, embark on an easy-to-moderate ½-mile rim hike along the edge of a stunning canyon. As you walk the canyon rim, enjoy sweeping views of natural amphitheaters, striking rock spires, and expansive high-desert scenery. The elevated vantage points also provide excellent opportunities to observe native wildlife, including mule deer, elk, wild turkey, and other species that frequently inhabit the area before returning to the ranch.
