    Mount Field National Park

    - Step into Tasmania's oldest national park, just over an hour's drive from Hobart. Renowned for its magnificent three-tiered Russell Falls, towering forests, and alpine lakes, this is an excellent place to experience the scenery of a temperate rainforest. - Follow the short rainforest boardwalk to Russell Falls — one of Australia's most beautiful and most photographed waterfalls. - Keep walking along the Tall Trees track, where giant swamp gums tower more than 80 metres above the forest floor. - Along the way, you'll likely meet pademelons, wallabies and vividly coloured native birds — and in the cooler months there's snow play around Lake Dobson.

    Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

    Established in 1981, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Australia’s most popular wildlife sanctuaries. It was founded to provide a home for abandoned and injured wildlife, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife and the natural environment. You might well prefer to visit a sanctuary like this rather than a traditional zoo where animals are captured and kept in cages for people to look at. Here you can see many native Australian wildlife species, such as wombats, koalas, birds, weasels and more. Of particular note are the 80 free-roaming kangaroos, which you can get up close to—petting, feeding and playing with them. You’ll discover little-known facts about wildlife, as well as fascinating stories about the animals.
