Every quest has a moment where one person sees the thing nobody else has seen. It might be a detail on a wall that everyone else walked past. It might be the connection between two clues that seemed unrelated. It might be the answer to the thing the team has been stuck on for ten minutes, delivered with the quiet confidence of someone who was just waiting for the right moment.
It is a very good feeling when it is you, and almost as good when it is not. That is the point of doing this as a group - everyone brings something different, and the story is designed to give each person a moment where they are the one who cracks it.
The trail runs across San Diego with clues to read, places to find, and a story that rewards paying attention.
By the end you will have figured out things that felt impossible at the start, and the satisfaction of getting there together is the part that sticks.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet at the Plaza de Panama fountain in Balboa Park, between the art and natural history museums. Arrive 10 min early. Open the link in your booking email on your phone to start. Look for others near the fountain checking their phones.
What to expect
Self-guided on your phone. No tour guide, no actors. Just you and your team and a story across four outdoor locations. Your team figures it out: who spots details, who cracks codes, who'll look ridiculous for the team photo. That's how inside jokes happen instead of photos of a tour guide's back.
At each stop, your team gets missions to complete together. Puzzles to solve, photo challenges, a potential double agent to uncover and some that ask you to figure out things about each other.
Your phone reveals each new location only after you finish the last one. You'll explore Balboa Park's museum district, about 1km of walking on flat paved paths. All missions are outdoors.
Sunday at 3pm, solo travelers and small groups are grouped together into teams of 2 to 8. All other times are private to your booking (1-8 players, just your group).
Bring: charged smartphone, walking shoes, water, sun protection. Photos are from events in other cities.
