This is far more than a cable-car ride to a famous viewpoint. You will explore Matterhorn Glacier Paradise with a local guide who is also an experienced climber—and some of our guides have climbed the Matterhorn themselves. They will bring the surrounding peaks to life with first-hand mountaineering stories, insider knowledge, the history of Zermatt and secret local legends you will not find on the information boards.
At 3,883 metres, you will enter a spectacular world of permanent snow, ice and glaciers. We will visit the Glacier Palace beneath the ice and take in the extraordinary panorama of the Alps. When conditions permit, we will also step outside into a designated safe area where you can experience the snow and ice beneath your feet—and children can enjoy playing in the snow and making snowballs, even during summer.
This is a relaxed private experience. We take time to answer your questions and allow your family or group to enjoy each place at its own pace.

1Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
No place in Zermatt takes you higher than Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. At 3,883 metres, it is Europe’s highest cable car station, offering an unforgettable high-alpine experience where snow and ice remain throughout the year. The journey itself is spectacular, carrying you from green alpine meadows into a world of glaciers, rock and permanent snow. One of the highlights is the Glacier Palace, the highest glacier palace in the world. Hidden around 15 metres beneath the glacier, it features fascinating ice sculptures, sparkling tunnels, an ice slide and even a walk through a real glacial crevasse. Don’t miss the viewing platform, where a breathtaking 360° panorama unfolds around you. On a clear day you can admire 38 peaks over 4,000 metres, including the Matterhorn from its eastern side, the Monte Rosa massif and, in the distance, Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe. It’s one of those places where photographs never quite capture what it feels like to stand there.
