My private tours center on history, nature, and culture — all through a lens that sees Georgia's future as bright because of the incredible diversity, vibrant communities, thriving arts scenes, and breathtaking natural beauty.
The North Georgia Mountains will provide breathtaking views, fresh air, deep history, and a truly unforgettable adventure all in a casual, fun, comfortable tour with a local guide.
I will pick you up at your home, hotel, or vacation rental in my comfortable 4-door Ford Maverick Hybrid and we'll head north.
We'll start off big at Georgia’s highest point – Brasstown Bald – to get a soaring view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. On a clear day you can see Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina from the summit. We’ll visit the mountaintop visitor’s center to learn about the natural and cultural stories of Brasstown Bald and the surrounding region. Entrance fee is included.
Next we'll head to Helen, known as Georgia’s Bavarian Alpine town and we’ll have a hearty German lunch (cost of lunch is not included). If you’re feeling extra adventurous, the Georgia Mountain Coaster awaits you here ($17 per person extra).
Next we'll take in the beauty of Toccoa Falls. At 186 feet, Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, and it's 19 feet taller than Niagara Falls.
We'll take a little tea / coffee / snack break at the charming Talullah 1882 Tea house. (Purchases not included)
We'll round out your adventure withe a "gorgeous" late afternoon view of Tallulah Gorge - one of Georgia's Seven Natural Wonders. The gorge reaches nearly 1,000 feet deep in places and is about two miles long, and it's one of the oldest geological features in North America. This stop will involve some light hiking. Entrance fees included.
