Listen to Japanese City Pop vinyl in a small underground cafe in Kyoto. This experience combines music, Japanese cafe culture, record artwork, and a host-made original booklet. It is a quiet, intimate listening session, not a loud party or DJ event.

The host will guide you through selected Japanese records from the 1970s and 1980s, sharing simple background stories about the music, artists, and the cultural mood of the time. You can enjoy the warm sound of vinyl, look at record jackets, and relax with one drink and a light snack.

The original booklet is yours to read, write notes in, and take home as a small guide to Japanese City Pop. At the end, you will also receive an Instax photo memory from your visit to Tabco.

Chika Kissa Tabco is located in the basement (B1) of the building on the corner of a T-junction. There is a ramen shop on the 1st floor. Please go down the stairs next to the ramen shop.

What to expect

Enjoy Japanese City Pop records from the 1970s and 1980s in a small underground cafe in Kyoto. This is a quiet guided listening experience, not a loud party or DJ event.

The host will introduce the background of City Pop, its connection to Japanese cafe and vinyl culture, and the stories behind selected records. You will listen to a curated program on vinyl while relaxing with one drink and a light snack.

An original City Pop booklet written by the host is included, so you can read along, take notes, and bring it home as a small guide to Japanese music. At the end of the experience, you will also receive an Instax photo keepsake.

Guidance is in simple English and Japanese. Even if you do not understand every word, you can enjoy the music, atmosphere, records, booklet, and quiet local cafe setting.
