3Rila National Park
Follow in the footsteps of St. Ivan of Rila with a walk through an ancient forest above the monastery. We reach the small stone church built over St. Ivan’s original burial site and the rock cave where he spent his final years. Here, you can experience local traditions and leave a personal prayer note in the cliff gaps. Note: Requires a 20-minute uphill walk on a forest trail. This hike is completely optional—if you prefer to skip it, you can spend extra leisure time exploring the monastery or relaxing by the river.
