Discover Shanghai from the back of a BMW C 650 GT motorcycle — a rare way to experience the city, as road-legal motorcycles able to ride in central Shanghai are uncommon.

This private experience combines motorcycle sightseeing with photography. Ride through tree-lined neighborhoods, along Suzhou Creek, and across Nanpu Bridge with views of the Huangpu River and skyline. The motorcycle lets us explore smaller streets and experience the city’s changing atmosphere more freely.

This is not a traditional tour filled with scripted facts. As a photographer living in Shanghai, I’ll share the streets, views, and everyday details I personally enjoy, along with my own experience of the city. It’s more about sharing than lecturing.

I’ll also photograph you at selected stops, giving you a personal visual record of the journey. The route can be adjusted to your interests.

    Explore Shanghai’s most atmospheric tree-lined neighborhoods from the back of a BMW C 650 GT maxi-scooter. We’ll ride through leafy avenues, historic villas, quiet residential streets, hidden lanes, cafés, and distinctive architecture that reflect the city’s unique blend of old Shanghai and modern urban life. Traveling by motorcycle offers a completely different way to experience the area — you can feel the changing rhythm of the streets, move easily between well-known landmarks and quieter local corners, and discover places that are often missed from inside a car or tour bus. Along the way, we’ll make selected stops for sightseeing and photography, giving you time to enjoy the neighborhood and capture memorable images of your Shanghai journey.

  • Nanpu Bridge (Pass by)

    Ride across Nanpu Bridge and take in sweeping views of the Huangpu River and Shanghai’s skyline from the back of a motorcycle. We won’t stop here — the experience is all about the ride itself. Crossing the bridge on a motorcycle gives you an open, unobstructed view of the river, the city, and the changing skyline around you. With the wind, speed, and elevated perspective, this becomes one of the most unique moments of the journey and a completely different way to experience Shanghai than from inside a car or tour bus.

    Suzhou River

    Ride along Suzhou Creek and discover a quieter, more layered side of Shanghai. Along the waterfront, you’ll see historic bridges, restored industrial buildings, old neighborhoods, creative spaces, and modern architecture, all reflecting different chapters of the city’s history. Exploring the area by motorcycle makes the experience much more flexible. Many riverside streets and smaller lanes are difficult for cars to access or stop along easily, while a motorcycle allows us to get closer to the water, move through narrower streets, and pause at suitable scenic spots along the way.
