    The Trevi Fountain is Rome’s largest and most famous Baroque fountain, celebrated for its stunning architecture, rich symbolism, and timeless beauty. Completed in 1762 and designed by Nicola Salvi, the fountain is built against the backdrop of Palazzo Poli and marks the endpoint of the ancient Aqua Virgo aqueduct, which has supplied fresh water to Rome since 19 BC. A visit to the Trevi Fountain is not complete without taking part in its most famous tradition: tossing a coin over your left shoulder with your right hand into the fountain. Legend says that one coin ensures your return to Rome, two coins bring romance, and three coins promise marriage. Every year, millions of coins are collected from the fountain and donated to charity.
