Photo Atelier Marashlyan, founded in 2013, is the first professional photo studio in Armenia dedicated to traditional taraz photography. Every costume in our collection is restored from authentic historical sources, with real regional jewelry, accessories, and details that you will not find in a tourist souvenir shop.
Before the camera clicks, we explain the meaning behind your chosen outfit: the region it comes from, the symbolism of the colors, and the traditions behind the ornaments.
Whether you are a family, a couple, a solo traveler, or a group of friends, you will leave with a timeless portrait and a real memory of Armenia.

Meeting and pickup
Our studio is at Yeznik Koghbatsi 42, 2nd floor, Yerevan. Look for the 3rd entrance with the poster. On the intercom, enter 31, hit the call button and we will open the door for you. Come up to the 2nd floor. See you soon!
What to expect
Arrival & welcome: You arrive at your studio at Yeznik Koghbatsi 42, 2nd floor, Yerevan. We greet you, confirm your booking, and show you around.
Choose your costume: Browse your collection of authentic Armenian taraz costumes from historical regions. We help you choose the costume that suits your style.
Learn the story: Before the camera comes out, we share the history behind your costume: the region, colors, and traditions behind the ornaments.
Get dressed: Your assistant helps you dress so everything looks authentic and feels comfortable.
The photoshoot: The photographer guides you through poses in a traditional studio. You take individual, couple, or group shots, depending on your package. Families and groups also shoot together.
Choose your photos: Depending on your package, you select photos on the spot or receive a digital gallery later.
Receive your edited photos: Your edited digital photos are sent by email or WhatsApp within a few days. Prints and extra edits are available.
