Please come to the main entrance of Ryogoku Kokugikan and show your electronic ticket to the staff. Doors open at 12:00 PM, and the ceremony begins at 1:00 PM. Please arrive early. The venue is a 2-minute walk from the West Exit of JR Ryogoku Station.

What to expect

Enter the iconic Ryogoku Kokugikan for a one-day-only ceremony marking the retirement of former top-division sumo wrestler Hidenoumi. Watch traditional taiko drumming, a sumo hairdressing demonstration, ring-entering ceremonies, and Hidenoumi’s final match against his younger brother, Tobizaru.

Witness the official topknot-cutting ceremony, followed by Hidenoumi’s first appearance with his new hairstyle and his farewell address. The program also includes special matches between professional wrestlers and high school sumo athletes. Guests with the premium participation ticket can personally cut a small portion of Hidenoumi’s topknot.
